Self-Evident -- Self-Evident

I find the truths about Self-Evident to be that post-emo and math rock should occasionally join forces and jam out. In the six degrees world of music, Self-Evident is related to Deep Elm Records magic rock kids Claire de Lune based on the fact that their drummer Ben Johnston is now banging the skins for this Minneapolis band. Not ever confining their sound to anything particularly straight-forward, Self-Evident is an appealing substitute to bands like Mineral, Fugazi, and Cursive. Only a mere trio, the group has a sound thick and nimble enough to easily be double that size in members. If you're looking for the next polished angular post-emo rock outfit, than this oughta be your bag--but even if you're not, I'm willing to bet good money you'll be damn impressed with such a cohesive and gathered-up sound.- J-Sin
