Though some dismiss the math-rock label as a joke, it's an apt description of the galloping, angular punk that Self-Evident has served up for a decade.   The Minneapolis trio took on new drummer Ben Johnston last year, and the addition to the lineup bolsters the patient but more straightforward arrangements on the this year's self-titled album.   Headliner Deconstructing Jim also strives for an epic-yet-contained feel in its songs, but it can come off as more contrived than ambitious.
